  • You can use the mouse, keyboard or both (though this is difficult).
  • Moving the mouse forwards or backwards will move Peperami forwards or backwards.
  • Moving left or right will rotate Peperami left or right.
  • This essentially acts the same way as the keyboard’s arrow keys which perform the same functions:
  • Up and down arrows to move Peperami forwards and backwards, left and right arrows to rotate Peperami left and right.
  • If you have a numpad, the arrow keys will also work there. Hold either Shift key while moving forwards/backwards to run in that direction.
  • You can use the Z and X keys to move Peperami to the left and right, allowing him to strafe around enemies.
  • Pressing the left Ctrl key will fire your weapon (or punch if you have no weapon selected).
  • Press the Space key to interact with things. The original manual specifically states you can “open doors, press buttons, use objects” with this button.
  • The numbers (above the letter keys) 1 through 4 will switch your weapon.
  • F7/F8 will turn the gamma down or up. This can be helpful with certain computer brightness settings, but is curiously undocumented.
  • The Tab key will bring up a map you can use to navigate. There is a fog-of-war effect in that the game only shows walls that Peperami has seen (though they do not go away after time) so you may have to run around a bit to find your way. You can use the numpad’s Minus (-) and Plus (+) keys to zoom the map in or out.
  • Press the B key for Peperami to scream “BASTARD!” and the V key for him to scream “I love VIOLENCE!”. This has no effect on the game.
  • P will pause the game. Esc will bring up the quit menu.
